Finally, I found the secret to hard boiling eggs so the shells won’t stick.
I spent years and years trying to figure out the secret. Time after time, I lost half of the egg stuck to the shell, with sweat dripping down my face, small cracks on my fingertips, and enough frustration to say forget the whole thing and stick with scrambled eggs or a PB&J. I tried tricks I saw on You Tube and Pinterest. I asked friends and family and the shells still stuck to the egg. It seems like such a simple thing, there had to be a better solution, so I continued my experimentation.
I FINALLY figured out the trick and I’m sharing it with you! I should really set up a PayPal account to share this tip with you, but out of the kindness of my heart, you get it for free. You can thank me in the comments :).
Place the eggs in small pot and cover with cold water until the eggs are just covered. Bring the water to a hard boil and boil uncovered for 10 minutes. Cover the pot and remove it from the heat and let it sit for another 10 minutes. Set a timer for both of these steps to be sure to get the timing right. Pour out the hot water and fill the pot with ice cold water and add some ice cubes. Lots of ice cubes. You want the water to be cold. Crack the egg shells against the side of the pan at the top of each one let them sit it the water until they cool completely. They will be easy to peel and will not stick to the shell. Use fresh eggs for the best results.
I hope you’ll have the same success as I had with this technique. Come back and tell me how well it worked for you!
