Game Day Party Foods Roundup
Hello friends! Football season is coming to a close and the Super Bowl is on February 4th. Aside from the big game and the crazy commercials, one of the things we all look forward to the most is the Game Day Party Foods. Super Bowl Sunday is an excuse to take a break from the “eat healthier” New Year’s resolutions and indulge a little.
We typically lay pretty low for the Super Bowl. A few friends come over and we prepare a variety of Game Day Party Foods like chili, wings, pizza, and plenty of snacks. Some friends of ours used to throw a big Super Bowl party every year, but they stopped several years ago. While I enjoy being with people and watching the game, it’s kind of nice to have a quieter afternoon where we can actually watch the game. Is it just me, or when you go to a big game day party, do you have a hard time focusing on the TV?

Back when I was in my late teens and early twenties, my friend Eric always had an epic Super Bowl Party at his parent’s house. They had TV’s in every room, including the back yard. They had copious amounts of Game Day Party Foods and after the game, we’d play the “name game.” In a big bowl were pieces of paper with names of celebrities, sports figures, politicians, etc. Everyone would draw a name and then describe the person without saying their actual name. It was a day my friends and I always looked forward to. Eric lost his life a few years ago and I still think of him often, but especially on Super Bowl Sunday and those fun parties.
As I do every year, I’m rounding up some great Game Day Party Food recipes that you can find here on the blog. Each of them are easy to prepare and are sure to please! In no particular order, here is this year’s roundup:
Sweet Chili BBQ Instant Pot Chicken Wings
Deviled Eggs with Applewood Smoked Bacon and Green Onions
Jalapeno Artichoke Dip
Crockpot Chex Mix
Ketchum Homemade Guacamole (my favorite version)
Absolute Best Crockpot Chili
Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
Homemade Restaurant Style Salsa
Whatever you do, have a wonderful and safe Super Bowl Sunday! Gather with friends, eat some delicious food, and watch the big game. Dilly! Dilly!
