My name is Shannon. I was born and raised in Southern California (I consider Camarillo to be my home town) and moved to Colorado in 2009, where I live with my husband Jay, two step daughters Kendall and Nicole and our rescue dog Hope. My husband served in the United States Air Force for twenty years, which is what brought us to Colorado. He retired at the end of 2013 and purchased a Mr. Appliance franchise. We met on eHarmony (yes, it really works!) and have been married since December of 2005. He is truly the love of my life and I have the best step daughters any woman could ask for. They all love my cooking and are so supportive of everything I do. God has blessed me so much more than I deserve.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, photography, reading, hiking, skiing, river rafting, learning new technology (I’m a total gadget geek), attending concerts, shopping, spending time with friends and family, plays, and obviously, I love to cook!
I am a home cook. I am not professionally trained, unless you count my Italian heritage (and if you’re from an Italian family, you know that cooking is practically a profession.) To me, food is about sharing with people I love and gathering around the table, sharing stories, laughing out loud, and creating memories. My recipes are made with ingredients you can find at your local grocery store, you can serve to your children or guests, and you can prepare quickly so you can spend more time eating and less time in the hot kitchen, and everything, without exception, is prepared from the heart.
I hope you enjoy my food and will try the recipes at home. If you have any questions, you can send me an email at ketchumkitchen@gmail.com. Thanks for visiting and I hope you’ll come back often.
