what I got for Christmas 2017

Hello Foodies. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s. It’s so hard for me to believe that 2016 has already come and gone. The year absolutely flew by. I tried to slow down during the holidays as much as possible to really enjoy them, but I feel like I blinked and I missed them! My step mom was here for a week and I took time off work to be with her and we savored every moment. We went to the Broadmoor and looked at the gorgeous Christmas decorations and went to Christmas Eve service at church, watched movies, shopped, worked on jigsaw puzzles, cooked and ate! It was so fun to have her with our family, especially on Christmas day. I know my dad is smiling down on us, so happy that we’ve stayed so close. We both miss him so much, but when we’re together it feels like he’s with us.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of The Pioneer Woman. I rave about her quite often here on the blog. I just think very highly of her and I love her recipes, cookbooks and have become very fond of her cookware and dish ware line at Walmart. First of all, it is very affordable, which I appreciate. There are a lot of other Food Network stars that have come out with their own product lines and they are extremely expensive. The line from The Pioneer Woman is not only affordable, but it’s beautiful and the quality is amazing!

Last year for Christmas, my sweet hubby (after I sent him a list with links to find items on my wish list online) gave me a Pioneer Woman dutch oven and her red dishes. We absolutely love them! We were in desperate need of some new dishes. We were using the dishes we received for our wedding in 2005 and they were chipping and we had several that have broken over the years. I was so thrilled with the products and they have held up really well! The bowls are the perfect shape for a bowl of chili or a sundae or a simple bowl of cereal.

Ree came out with some new products this season and so I added a couple to my wish list and Santa brought them to me! First off is this baker set. I love the little details like the “Life is Good” quote on one dish and “Made with Love” on the other. I broke them out and used them on Christmas day and they are very heavy duty, food cooks evenly in them and they are a cinch to clean. Not to mention they are so pretty to look at. Seriously, I am in love with them.

The other item on my wish list for the kitchen this year was The Pioneer Woman mixing bowl set. I had some mixing bowls that are probably 20+ years old. I purchased them when I first moved out of my dad’s house and out on my own. They were fine at the time, but when I saw these, I knew it was time to replace them. These mixing bowls are not only beautiful, but they are microwave and dishwasher safe. I’m all about dishes I can put in the dishwasher and these bowls are the perfect size.

And last, but certainly not least, my step mom gave me these adorable Kirkland’s Chef Salt & Pepper Shakers. My kitchen has a chef theme going on and these salt & pepper shakers match perfectly. These fellows also have cute bows on their bums. They make me smile.

Did you have anything on your Christmas list this year for the kitchen? I would love to hear about what you asked for and why! I think it’s so much fun to share. Thank you so much for stopping by and thank you to my hubby for the wonderful gifts for my kitchen. He gets the benefit of eating all of my creations, so I think it’s a win-win when he gives me new kitchen tools.

It’s already starting out to be a great year and I hope you’ll take the journey with me by subscribing to receive new recipes in your inbox and join the conversation by leaving me comments and following me on Social Media.
